So, is that some digital effect or where they actually blowing stuff up? Perhaps a mix of the two?

Either way... damn, skate videos have come a long way from the fella on the skateboard with the camcorder and the fisheye lens.

Umm guys the explosions are comped on, sorry to burst your bubbles but there were no actual explosions going off while the skateboarders where in shot.

It's called special effects. Like Star Wars, you know.
